Thinlits Card Dies

Exciting News!!!

One of the most exciting announcements at Convention was the introduction of the new

Thinlits Card Dies.  I can't wait to get my hands on these dies.  The samples shared at convention were so fun.

They've been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! Our amazing new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step.
ItemDescriptionPrice
133479Label Card Thinlits Die$32.95
133480Circle Card Thinlits Die$32.95
Available August 1, 2013
.
These new card dies come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just flip cards. (The Circle Card Thinlits Die comes with 10 total pieces; the Label Card Thinlits Die comes with nine total pieces.)
With the number of dies you're getting, plus the die that creates the card itself, the price is a great value-especially to create an interactive card!
  • These dies will make it easy to mass produce impressive "flip" cards. They would make great announcements, invitations, or Christmas cards. Let me help you select all the supplies to create your cards.
  • These Thinlits Card Dies will be available through the 2013-2014 catalog year;
  • The main shape in the cards (circle and label) can work with a lot of our stamp images so you can create tons of different kinds of cards using many different stamp sets. Here are just a few suggestions to get you started:
Label Card Thinlits Die (item 133479):
  • Happy Day Stamp Set (item 130294 W item 130297 C)
Circle Card Thinlits Die (item 133480):
  • Worth the Wait Stamp (item 131094 W)
  • Five-Way Flower Stamp (item 131088 W)
Both card dies pair well with:
  • Oh, Hello Stamp Set (item 131931 W item 130733 C)
  • Yippee-Skippee! Stamp Set (item 131341 W item 131344 C)
  • Really Good Greetings Stamp Set (item 130330 W item 130333 C)
  • Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set (item 130324 W item 130327 C)
  • These dies also work well with our new magnetic platform (item 130658) so you can place the dies exactly where you want them!

Fun with the Six-Sided Sampler

I spent some time over the weekend playing with many of my new Stampin' Up products.  There are so many great new bundles.  One of the best is the Six-Sided Sampler bundle.  It is perfect for clean and simple cards.  The hexagon shape coordinates with our Honeycomb texture folder too.

At convention, we received several "make and take" projects.  Since I decided to "take and make" mine, I worked on them over the weekend.  One of them used the color combination of Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay.  WOW, do they look great together!
I stamped and punched a variety of hexagons from the Six-Sided Sampler.  There are so many ways to group them together.  The stamp set includes 8 different hexagon designs and 3 different sentiments.  What a deal!

Stamp Set:  Six-Sided Sampler
Paper:  Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, and Whisper White
Ink:  Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay
Cool Tools:  Hexagon Punch and Honeycomb texture folder
Accessories:  Calypso Coral Baker's Twine and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Don't Miss Out on the Paper Pumpkin Promotion

I joined Paper Pumpkin a few months ago and love it.  The projects are so cute and easy to do with the supplies and easy to follow instructions.  You can even choose to step up the projects by adding something extra.

This is a great way to try stamping without making a big investment.  Do you have a friend or relative who has hesitated to try stamping?  Wouldn't this be great for them?

It is also a great time for dedicated stampers to check out the My Paper Pumpkin kits.  It is a little surprise in your mailbox each month.  The investment is minimal - $10 each month for the first two months.  What a deal!  You can even opt out at any time with no penalty.

In addition to supplies to make 4 cards with envelopes, the introductory kit includes a clear mount block which can be used with all subsequent kits.  Block D is a $8.50 value.

Convention General Swaps

Convention is over and I am home.  WOW!  Last week was incredible.  I met some incredible people, got lots of new ideas, and made special memories.  I can't wait to share new projects made with all of the loot we got at convention.  I LOVE TO WIN PRIZES!
A part of convention are the swaps.  Earlier, I shared the card I made for the Pals Swap.  In addition to the Pals swap I made 100 card fronts to exchange with other demonstrators attending convention.  Swapping is a great way to get new ideas to share with my customers.  I will be sharing one of my cards today and another next week.

I made this card in two different color combinations:  Midnight Muse/Real Red and Rich Razzleberry/Old Olive.  The Whisper White card front was run through the Big Shot in the Woodgrain texture folder.  The Midnight Muse Label was cut in half and the Festive pack was used to add piercing to the edge.  A sentiment from Round Array was added to an Artisan Label.

Card Details
Stamp Set:  A Round Array, Label Love.
Paper:  Brights Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Midnight Muse or Old Olive
Ink:  Real Red/Midnight Muse or Rich Razzleberry/Old Olive
Cool Tools:  7/8" Scallop and Artisan Label Punches, Labels Framelits, Festive Paper Pierce Pack.
Accessories:  Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

Pals Card Convention Card Swap

Today, I am sharing my card for the Pals Swap at convention.  My cards feature the Blooming with Kindness flower, the 2013-2014 In-colors, and Designer Series Paper.

The card base measures 8 1/2" by 11", scored at 4 1/4".  I stamped the 4" x 5 1/4" with the flower from Blooming with Kindness and the water spots from the initial Paper Pumpkin.  Then, it was run through the Big Shot in the Mosaic texture folder.  A 1 1/2" X 4" piece of  the same color of In-Color Designer Series Paper was added to the bottom of the Whisper White card front.  A stack of coordinating pennant strips was run through the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  The sentiment is from the Label Love bundle.

Card Details
Stamp Sets:  Label Love, Bloomin' with Kindness
Paper:  In-color Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Crumb Cake, and Smoky Slate

Six-Sided Sampler

Recently, I noticed a card on LeeAnn Greff's blog using the Six-Sided Sampler bundle.  It was my inspiration for our second project at Stamp Club this month.  I tried out a few versions but finally settled on one using Coastal Cabana (my personal favorite from the new In-Colors).  I stamped 6 different hexagons, trimmed them slightly to fit on a hexagon punched from Coastal Cabana.  These were arranged to form a flower.  A Basic Black 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, a Coastal Cabana 1 1/4" Scallop Circle, and 7/8" Scallop Circle sentiment from A Round Array were layered to form the center of the flower.  I love the way Stampin' Up punches can be stacked in so many ways.

Tip:  When I added "my friend" sentiment to the card front, it was a bit crooked.  So I stamped a second time on the smallest of the Deco Labels and added it under the Basic Black border.  Remember, there are no mistakes in stamping just opportunities.  :)

Card Details
Stamp Set:  Six-Sided Sampler and A Round Array
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, and Coastal Cabana
Ink:  Black Staz'On
Cool Tools:  Hexagon Punch, Deco Labels Collection, 1 3/4", 1 1/4", and 7/8" Scallop Punches, and Honeycomb Texture folder.

Bitty Butterfly Bling

I want to share a little something I made for my roommates at convention.  I sure hope they like it.

I had some silver trays and chain in my stash from last year,s Creating Keepsakes Convention.  Since the Pals will be wearing Real Red and Pool Party on Thursday and Friday, I decided to go with these colors and a little bling.  I used a 1" square punched from the Silver Glimmer paper and a 3/4" circle punched from the Red Glimmer paper as my background for the Itty Bitty Butterfly.  The butterfly was stamped with Staz'On Black ink and colored with Real Red and Coastal Cabana.  Two Designer Pearls were added.  The initials were stamped with the Designer Type Photopolymer Stamp set and punched with one of the Itty Bitty Punches. I used Crystal Effects to seal the design.
They were packaged in Stampin' Up cellophane bags with a tag made using the Chalktalk bundle.
Can't wait to share these with my roomies!

Product details
Stamp Sets:  Papillon Potpourri, Designer Type Photpolymer Stamp Set, 6 Sided Sampler
Paper:  Silver and Red Glimmer Paper, Whisper White
Ink:  Black Staz'On, Real Read and Coastal Cabana
Cool Tools:  1" Square punch, 3/4" Circle punch, Itty Bitty Butterfly punch

Mosaic Madness Borders Add Style!

I wanted to share another quick and simple card made using the Mosaic Madness Bundle.  Real Red, Smoky Slate, and Black make a real statement on the Very Vanilla background.

The Mosaic Madness set includes two border stamps.  I used one of these on this card to add a design element to the card.  The spacing of the stamped images is easy to do when using the clear mount stamps but you can use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the perfect placement.  I added the mosaics, a little ribbon, and the sentiment.  Quick and simple card done!

Card Details
Stamp sets:  Feel Goods, Mosaic Madness
Paper:  Very Vanilla and Basic Black
Ink:  Real Read, Smoky Slate, Black Staz'On

Stamp Club Project #1

Saturday was the beginning of our new year for Stamp Club.  We made a card and a cute little notebook.  It was a busy class and took a little longer than usual but was well worth it.  Everyone had the opportunity to try out some great new products from the Annual Catalog.

The Designer Series paper collections were redesigned this year and they are wonderful.  There are 4 different designs, two with light backgrounds and 2 with dark backgrounds.  You may notice the prints coordinate with some of our most popular texture folders- the Chevron, Fancy Fan, and Perfect Polka Dots.  Be sure to check them out in the catalog. For the notebook cover, everyone got to pick out their favorite 2013-2014 In Color:  Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, or Strawberry Slush.  We used Tombow Mono Glue to adhere the DSP to the cover.  Remember a little goes a long way.
A Whisper White and a Coastal Cabana label were cut using the brand NEW Deco Labels Collection.  Baked Brown Sugar was used to ink around the edges of the Coastal Cabana label.  Then 3 different flowers from the Flower Shop Stamp Set were stamped in a coordinating color and cut out using the Pansy Punch.  I love this set!  Everyone decorated the centers in a variety of ways.   I kept mine simple by adding a single Designer Pearl to the center of one flower.
The sentiment from Chalk Talk adds the final touch.
I can't wait to make more of these notebooks.  They will make great little gifts.
Project Details
Stamp Sets:  Chalk Talk, Flower Shop
Paper:  In-Color Designer Series, Whisper White, Coastal Cabana
Ink:  Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar

Gingham Garden and Label Love

Just a quick post today.  Thanks to several good friends I have completed 156 cards swaps for convention.  Just a few things left to do.  I am looking forward to an exciting week.

Here is a card I made a few weeks ago using the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper and the Label Love bundle.  I am getting a lot of mileage out of this set.  The sentiments are great and the coordinating punch makes the work easy and quick.

The Gingham Garden prints are so sweet.  They just make me smile.

Ink:  Island Indigo

Crazy for Mosaics

Mosaics are in!  I have been seeing them used in clothing, towels, wall art, and bedding.  They are everywhere.  Stampin' Up is on the cutting edge again. The Mosaic Madness bundle is a "got to have" from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  This past weekend I made several different cards using the same color combo of Real Red, Smoky Slate, and Basic Black.
I stamped  and punched out several mosaics in the 3 colors.  Then I added the mosaic texture to a portion of the Very Vanilla card base.  I tried several combinations of mosaics on the texture background to form the design.
One of the border stamps was stamped on a 4 1/4" X 1/2" piece of Very Vanilla and matted in Basic Black.  The Feel Goods sentiment was stamped in Real Red on the lower right hand corner of the card front.  Mixed Medley pennants were added next to the sentiment.
Card Details
Stamp Sets: Mosaic Madness, Feels Good
Paper:  Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Mixed Medley
Ink:  Staz'On Black, Real Red, Smoky Slate
