Fabulous Florets

Just a quick post.  The card today features my favorite print from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper.  It is covered with tiny butterflies.  The colors include Midnight Muse, Baja Breeze, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals, and Whisper White.   I used a sponge dauber to add Baja Breeze ink to the largest shape from the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The flower from the Fabulous Florets was cut out and popped up with a Stampin Dimensional.

Card Recipe

Stamps:  Fabulous Florets - Wood (123025) or Clear (123027); Sweet Essentials - Wood (126455) or Clear (126457).
Paper:  Patio Party (126916); Baja Breeze (111352); Whisper White (100730).
Ink:  Primrose Petals (126858); Midnight Muse (126860); Lucky Limeade (126984).

Scentsational Season - Christmas Tree Trio

I want to thank everyone who stopped my booth at the crop in Topeka on Saturday.  I really enjoyed sharing my ideas with you and hope to see you at an upcoming class.  Today's card was a big hit at my booth yesterday.
With the texture folders from Stampin' Up it was easy to take a simple card and bump it up a notch.  The new Fancy Fan folder adds interest to the background and the Delicate Designs scallop folder coordinates with the Large Scallop Edgelit to anchor the trees. The trees were cut from Festival of Prints DSP by using the Scentsational Season framelit.
I used a Stampin Dimensional to pop up the center tree.  If you haven't tried Stampin Dimensionals yet, you really should.  I have been using pop dots for years on scrapbook pages, cards, and other projects and Stampin Dimensionals are the best.  There is no waste, they are just the right thickness  but can easily be stacked when needed.

Card Recipe

Stamps:  Sweet Essentials - Wood (126455) or Clear (126457).
Paper:  Festival of Prints (126904); Very Vanilla (101650); Cherry Cobbler (119685); Lucky Limeade (122926).
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler (126966).
Tools:  Fancy Fan Folder (127751); Delicate Designs Folders (127023); Large Scallop Edgelit (127019);  Scentsational Season Framelits (127814);Red Rhinestones from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Nugget Jar

I just had to CASE the nugget jar posted by Kay Kalthoff.  They were just too darn cute.  These will make a great fall table favor.  I hope you aren't tired of project using the Perfectly Preserved Bundle because I am just getting started.
So far I have used the Orchard Harvest and the Comfort Cafe to make nugget jars.  Can't wait to try out the Festival of Prints and Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP for more samples.
Card Recipe
Bundle:  Perfectly Preserved - Wood (129943) or Clear ( 129944).
Paper:  Orchard Harvest (126895); Very Vanilla (101650).
Ink:  Staz'On Black (101406);  Early Expresso (126974)
Accents:  Large Oval Punch (119985); 1/8" Black Taffeta Ribbon (119261); Bitty Banners Framelits (129267)
Stamp two jars with Staz'On Black and cut out with coordinating framelit.  Punch large oval out os each jar.  Cut out two jar toppers with framelit.
The box portion that holds the nuggets is 1 1/2" x 4 1/2"
score the 1 1/2" side at 1/4" and 1 1/4"
score the 4 1/2" side at 1 1/2" and 3"
The topover portion is 1 1/4" x 1 1/2"
score the 1 1/2" side at 1/4" and 1 1/4"
Use glue dots or Tombow multi-purpose glue to attach jars to the front and back of the box.
Cover Hershey Nuggets with 1" x 3" strip of coordinating DSP.  Stack them in the box.  Attach topover portion and use approximately 7" of ribbon to tie around the top of the jar.
Thanks for stopping.

Polka Dots on Parade

I CASE'd this card from the internet with a few changes to make it my own. Unfortunately, I am unable find the site and don't recall the name of the designer so I can't give them credit for the original idea.

The Pennant Builder punch was used to create the border across the card.  Marina Mist, Real Read, and White make for a clean and simple card. The Chevron folder is quickly becoming my "go to" when I want to add some texture to a project.  Stampin' Up has a great selection of Texture folders to choose from.  They are an easy way to take a card from OK to WOW! The Mixed Medley Hostess set from the Holiday catalog adds a quick sentiment for any occasion.
Being a hostess for a workshop is a great way to earn free product.  Send me an email, if you are interested.  Sherrie.Gross@gmail.com   Or join my team to fill your wish list.

Pleasant Poppies Replay

Today my post includes another card made using Pleasant Poppies and En Francais background stamps.  I am still looking for the perfect combination of colors and technique.  I stamped the En Francais with Crumb Cake rather than Early Expresso for a softer look.  Which do you prefer?  The poppies are stamped behind the “Happy Birthday” sentiment to add interest.  I have another idea so be sure to check back later this week for another variation.

Card Recipe:  Pleasant Poppies – Wood (126480) or Clear (129499); En Francais (109521); Made for You – Wood (126340) or Clear (126342).

Paper: Raspberry Ripple (126842); Primrose Petals (126841); Very Vanilla (101650).

Ink:  Lucky Limeade (126984); Raspberry Ripple (126859); Primrose Petals (126858); Black Staz’On (101406);.

Accessories: Window Frames Collection Framelits (129021); Raspberry Ripple 3/8” Satin Stitched Ribbon (126845); 1 ¼” Square Punch.

Paper Pal Arts Sketch Challenge

I am home after a wonderful weekend attending the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Tulsa with a great group of friends.  We saw lots of new crafting supplies, attended several classes, and searched for super deals.  Thanks to Francesca, we even won first prize at the Friday night crop for our table decorations.  I even won a door prize this year.  We had so much fun!  I am so lucky to have a special group of friends to travel with.  Can’t wait for next year!
This week’s challenge is a Margaret Moody design.  After a long hot summer, I always look forward to school starting, fall colors, and cooler temperatures.  My interpretation of the sketch brings together all of these elements.  I used the Perfectly Preserved stamp bundle and Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper to create a 5 x 5 card.
 Card Recipe
Stamp Set:   Perfectly Preserved Bundle – Wood (129943) or Clear (129944); Sweet Essentials – Wood (126455) or Clear (126457).

Open House Make and Takes

I want to thank everyone for attending my first Stampin' Up Open House on Saturday.  It was great to see everyone.  Two of my favorite bundles from the Holiday Catalog were used to create the Make and Takes.  Just in case, I had not told you already the Ghoulish Googlies Bundle is the BEST!  The ideas for easy simple projects are endless. These were inspired by Becky Roberts, www.inkingidaho.blogspot.com.

The second project used my brand new Perfectly Preserved Bundle.  The color combination of Island Indigo, Raspberry Ripple, More Mustard, and Lucky Limeade from the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper are teamed with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.  Love this set!  This card was inspired by my upline, Mary Fish, www.stampinpretty.com.

Pals Paper Arts Challenge

This week's Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge was the inspiration for my card today.  Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, and Real Red were used to make a birthday card.  The Create a Cupcake stamp set and Cupcake Builder Punch have been a part of my Stampin' Up collection for some time.  This card tells me I should pull them out more often.  The Fancy Fan folder was used to add texture to the Whisper White background.  What do you think?
