Oh Whale! favors

This cute little favor was one of our projects at a recent workshop.  They are so cute and quick to make.  They will hold a small candy bar,Twix bars or Reece's Peanut Butter Eggs fit well. Four can be made from a single sheet of cardstock.  I cased the box from Becky Roberts at Inking Idaho. Check it out!
The DSP can be switched our for other patterns.  Just add the appropriate sentiment for your occasion.

Doily Delight

Today's card combines Rich Razzleberry and Pool Party.  I wanted to feature one of the Paper Doilies from the Spring Catalog. The sentiment was stamped directly on the doily.  I suggest using two doilies or placing a piece of Whisper White behind the doily to make the sentiment stand out.
The Honeycomb Texture folder is so versatile--I hope it is included in the Annual Catalog.

Paper Pal Arts Challenge

 PPA155w-frame
Are you ready for our first Spring sketch challenge? Welcome to the March 2013 Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge! Our divinely talented Resident Artist and Sketch Designer, Margaret Moody, has created another fun and inspiring layout for you this month.  I hope you have as much fun with this one as I did. Check out the designs on the Paper Pal Arts blog to see how others used the sketch. I hope you give it a try.  Because I can't wait to see how you use it!

Here is my interpretation of the challenge sketch.  I finally got around to trying out the Bloomin' with Kindness stamp set from the annual catalog.  The detail on the flower is just beautiful.  For today's card, I chose to use papers from the Sycamore Street DSP which was free during Sale-a-bration.  It is such a wonderful group of prints and colors. I just hate to give it up.  Thank goodness the new annual catalog is just around the corner.  I am hoping that Stampin' Up will decide to keep Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Island Indigo in their line-up of ink and paper colors.  They are just too good to retire.

Here is a slightly different color combination.

 Card Details
Stamp Sets:  Bloomin' with Kindness
Paper:  Sycamore Street DSP, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Calypson Coral.
Ink:  Island Indigo and Calypso Coral
Tools and Accessories:  Perfect Polka Dots Texture Folder,

Secret Garden using PPA Color Challenge

Just a quick post today!  I had planned to participate in the recent Pals Paper Arts Challenge but time got away from me.  But I do want to share the cards I made using the Color Challenge of Raspberry Ripple, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake.  I had not considered using this combination of colors but the results are really pleasing.  What do you think?

I made two versions with the same layout but a different color combination. Above is one version.

Here is the second version.  Which is your favorite?

Stamp Club Project #2

I have had such a good time “playing” with the All Dressed Up bundle.  I wanted to share the fun with everyone at stamp club.  Our second project is a card that combines several Stampin’ Up products.

OR

My pile of scraps included two Crumb Cake dress forms from All Dressed Up.  I used the
En Francais background stamp in Early Expresso to add some detail.  The skirt is made from 2 flowers from the Pop Up Posies Designer Kit, which were cut in half.  The ribbon rose and Pool Party or Calypso Coral ribbon were added at the waist to complete the look.

The card front is a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Very Vanilla.  The small flower and leaves from Bloomin' Marvelous were stamped in combinations of Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Lucky Limeade depending on the color of flower used for the skirt.  I also used Crumb Cake ink to stamp the water spot from Fall Foliage stamp set.  After all of the stamping is completed, it is time to run the card front through the Honeycomb texture folder.

A variety of sentiments are perfect for Labels framelits. My samples included two different sentiments.  Don't forget to add paper piercing by using Festive Paper Piercing Pack.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Bloomin' Marvelous, Oh, Hello, Vintage Verses, Fall Foliage

Stamp Club's Clutch of Baby Chicks

Typically the week of stamp club, I stress out about which projects to make. Even though I have a stack of contenders already made, I continue to look for new ideas.  This month I wanted to make something special with an Easter theme for my club members and their guests.
As a member of the Stampin’ Pretty Pals, I have access to a private facebook group where fellow pals post projects. Last week, Rae Harper, a fellow Pal, posted a little chick and a bunny.  They were so cute and really got me thinking about how I would make them.  What would I add or do differently?  Here is my “case” of Rae’s little chick.

I really enjoy watching each club member take the basic instructions for a project and add a bit of their own personality.  Check out our little clutch of chick from last Saturday.  Aren’t they the cutest?  You can tell they are related but each one has their own personality.

Card Details:
Paper:  Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, and Whisper White
Tools:  Fancy Fan Texture Folder, Ornament from the Holiday Itty Bitty Punches, ¾” and 1” Circle Punches, 1 ¾” and 2 3/8” Scallop Circle Punches, and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

March Pals Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the March Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to share new ideas and projects to get you ready for spring.
You should have just left stop number 26 on the Pals Hop - Penny Nichols at Sierra Stampin!  If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

My card today features the Feels Good Stamp Set.  These sayings are so special and the font is just beautiful.  They will be perfect for all of the special people in your life.

The card base is made from a 5" X 10" piece of Island Indigo, scored in half to make a 5" X 5" card.  The Whisper White card front was put through the Big Shot in the new Cloudy Day Texture Folder.  One of the Label Framelits was used to cut a window out of the clouds.  The white card front was popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped on a DSP print from the Sent With Love paper pack.  A piece of Island Indigo and Whisper White DSP runs along the bottom of the card.  It measures 1 1/4" X 5".   The sun peeking out of the clouds was made with a 1 1/4" circle framed with 8 small pennants.  The pennants were punched with the petite pennantx builder punch and then approximately 1/4" was cut away from the flat part of each pennant to make them smaller.
Card Recipe:
Stamp Sets:  Feel Goods
Paper:  Sent With Love, Whisper White, Island Indigo
Ink:  Black Staz'On
Tools and Accessories:  Island Indigo Sycamore Street Ribbon, Designer Rhinestones, Labels Framelits, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Petite Pennants Punch, and Cloudy Day Texture Folder.
I am giving away the Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set as my Blog Candy this week.  It is a great set.

Guest Stamper

I am thrilled to be Mary Fish's guest stamper today.  I have followed her blog for several years.  Her cards are always beautiful, just perfect for the busy stamper.  I really hope to make her proud with my project today.
If you are a new visitor to my blog, welcome.  As I have mentioned before, the All Dressed Up Bundle did not thrill me at first.  But I began to see wonderful ideas online and soon gave in to temptation by ordering the bundle. Well I have definitely changed my tune because theses little dresses are so "stinkin'cute".  Hopefully, this card will help change your mind too.

I stamped the background by using a large flower from the Secret Garden stamp set and the small flower from Bloomin' Marvelous (SAB) stamp set. Stampin' Up does a fabulous job of coordinating products to simplify your card making.  Remember, to consider mixing stamps from different sets on your cards.

The First Edition Designer Series Paper is a must have because it can be combined with almost any color of cardstock.  This card combines Very Vanilla, Raspberry Rippler, and Basic Black which are a dramatic backdrop for the little dress. Did you realize there are 24 sheets in the package for just  $12.95?  What a deal!

A variety of Designer Series Papers can be used for the dress. But don't forget about the texture folders!  The Elegant Lines texture folder was just perfect for my card.  Placement on the folder can make difference so be sure to try different options.

The Designer Pearls and the 5/8" Flower Trim are the perfect embellishments for my little dress.  The new Flower Trim in the Spring Catalog is only $6.95 for 2 yards. By cutting apart the roses, this will go a long way.  The roses can be dyed by using the re-inkers and water or just push the rose down on your stamp pad to color a little or a lot.

Card Recipe
Stamp Sets:  Secret Garden and Bloomin' Marvelous
Paper:  First Edition DSP, Very Vanilla, and Basic Black
Ink:  Black Staz'On and Raspberry Ripple
Tools and Accessories:  All Dressed Up framelits, Large Oval and Scallop Oval, Designer Pearls, 5/8" Flower Trim, Elegant Lines texture folder.

Another Scraptastic Card

Today’s post is another card made with the scraps that litter my work table.  This card uses DSP from the Print Poetry Paper stack.  The print features Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, and Gumball Green which are all 2012-2013 In-Colors.  I used the Petite Curly Label Punch to punch out several labels from different scraps.  They were adhered to a piece of Very Vanilla.  It was run through the Big Shot in the Lattice Texture Folder.  A small heart punched from Summer Starfruit was popped up on a Stampin' Dimensional.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the January Best of Birthdays Stamp Set. As part of our 25-year anniversary celebration, we're bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release-one set per month-during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image.
While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month, all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
As a special incentive to collect the Best of stamps, we're including a collector's card and 25-year proof of purchase sticker with every Best of set. Collect six stickers, and send it in to redeem a FREE set of your choice valued up to $14.95! Free sets must be redeemed no later than April 30, 2014.seen image!

All Dressed Up

With the release of the Spring Catalog, I started dreaming about the new goodies I would order.  Top on my list was the Hearts a Flutter Bundle, the Honeycomb Texture Folder, the More Amore Designer Series Paper, and the Borders Scoring Plate.  It was difficult to limit my “got to have it list” because the Spring Catalog is full of wonderful new products.  From the beginning, I dismissed the All Dressed Up Bundle as one thing I did not need.  Then I started seeing cards on other Stampin’ Up demonstrator’s blogs and I slowly began to change my mind.  Finally, I gave into temptation and ordered the bundle.
A couple of week ago, I was lucky enough to spend an entire day at home due to 10” of snow.  It was a great day to play with the All Dressed Bundle.  That morning Mary Fish had posted a beautiful card for the Paper Pal Arts Challenge.  So I started by CASE-ing it.  From the first cut of the framelit, I was hooked.  The little dresses are stinking cute.
Next I CASE’d another card, I had found online by Janine Tinklenberg.  She used DSP from the Print Poetry DSP Stack.

Card Recipe
Stamp Sets:  All Dressed Up Bundles
Paper:  Print Poetry DSP, Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals
Ink: Early Expresso
Tools/Accessories: Satin Stitched Primrose Petals and Midnight Muse Ribbon, Designer Rhinestones.

You Are My Sunshine

This song has always been a favorite and holds a special meaning for my family.  When the single stamp was released in January I ordered it right away. Today’s card is my first using it.
I chose a simple design in bright and happy colors.  The designer series paper is from the Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP.  The sentiment was stamped in Marina Mist on Whisper White cardstock and then matted with Marina Mist.  It was stamped a second time with Daffodil Delight and the ¾” circle punch was used to punch out the sun.  I used a stampin’ dimensional to pop up the sun.
Card Recipe
Stamps:  You Are My Sunshine Single Stamp
Paper:  Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP, Whisper White, Marina Mist
Ink:  Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist
Tools:  Chevron Texture Folder, ¾” Circle Punch, Marina Mist ribbon, Designer Rhinestones

Just Because You Are Bloomin' Marvelous

Today’s post is made with the Bloomin’ Marvelous and Vintage Verses stamp sets.  You can choose one of these sets FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration promotion. Spend $100 and get both sets free.

The Bloomin’ Marvelous flower and leaves were stamped on 2” X 5 ¼” piece of Whisper White.   Then I ran it through the Big Shot in the new Honeycomb Texture folder.  A 2” X 5 ¼” piece of Calypso Coral was put through the Big Shot in the Delicate Dots Texture folder.  A strip of Pool Party is punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch.  It is added to the edge of the Whisper White piece.
The “Just Because” sentiment was stamped on the smallest Labels Collection framelit.  It was layered on the next larger label cut from Pool Party cardstock.  I used the Festive Piercing template to pierce the edge of the Pool Party Label.  The largest Boho Blossom was punched from Calypso Coral and a single rose was added.  Three Designer Rhinestones were added below the sentiment.

Bridal Shower Invites

Wedding bells will be ringing in April for my sister, Laura, and her fiancĂ©, John.  The entire family is excited for them and looking forward to the big day.  We are hosting a bridal shower in March for the happy couple.  Our family is always ready for a party!
As one of the hostesses, I made the invitations using Stampin’ Up products, of course.  I had case’d this card from another demonstrator.  Sorry, I can’t remember who so if you recognize your work let me know.  I will be happy to give you credit.

Here is my version with a few variations. It is a clean and simple card, which can be made quickly.   I used a variety of patterns from the Sycamore Street DSP to make 40 invitations.

Fun Folds

I found this fun fold card by Kelly Acheson on Pinterest.  It showcases the All Dressed Up Bundle which is teamed with paper from the Sycamore Street DSP.  Did you know you can get this DSP FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration?  It features a wonderful selection of colors, including Pool Party, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake, and Rich Razzleberry.  Together they form a beautiful palette.

The card base is a 4 ¼” X 11” piece of Pool Party which is scored at 4 1/8” and 8 ½”.  The edge of the short piece was embossed with the scalloped border from the new Needlepoint Border Texture folders available in the Spring Catalog.  A 2 ½” circle was punched from the card base to form a place for that cute little dress to peek out.
The edge of the doily is sponged with Pool Party ink before it is folded to form the skirt.  The dress form was cut out of Crumb Cake and I chose the Rich Razzleberry chevron for the dress bodice.  A piece of Pool Party ribbon and a single flower from the 5/8” Flower Trim.  You can add color to the flower by pushing it down on the Pool Party ink pad.   Adhere it to the dress with a glue dot. A strand of pearls is added to the neckline of the dress form.   The dress form is attached to the scallop circle and then use sticky strip to attach it to the card base.  A 4” square of Whisper White is added to the inside of the card for the sentiment and a 4” square of coordinating Sycamore Street DSP is attached to the front of the card base.  Add a sentiment  which is attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The sentiment will hold the front flap of the card closed.

Aren’t these fun?
